We have decided that in the next few months we are going to raise money and collect donations for eSimphewe!!!! We are so excited about this!
For those of you who are unaware Daphne and Peter Banks were Owen's foster parents while living in South Africa. Not long after Owen came to live with us forever, Daphne and Peter opened eSimphewe, a baby house. They have done a wonderful job fostering babies and toddlers, and helping their community. They are a full community effort, and work to help the birthmothers, training them for if they choose to parent their babies. They also staff a good number of people and provide additional educational opportunities, along with training. They are getting out, into the community and teaching about HIV. They are doing amazing things!
Daphne and Peter are truly doing God's work and have been following his calling. In talking to Daphne they are excited to announce that they are in the process of opening a second baby house!!!
She told me that there are many toddlers in their care, and they are struggling with having enough underwear and pajamas for them. So, I am starting a pajama and underwear drive! She said that they are in need of underwear for both boys and girls in sizes 3-6, and pajamas for all sizes for both boys and girls!
If you have gently used pajamas, or see any at Once Upon a Child, we will take them!! Keep your eyes out for sales! Just think, if we could send a new pair of underwear and pajamas for each of Daphne's kids!

Great idea and what a great cause. We would love to support you. I'll be sure to go through Maya's old PJ's and will start looking for some good sales.
